Bill Maher’s Epic and Timely Rant on Islam

John Porter  Saturday November 14 2015

There was a terror attack in Paris. ISIS was involved. Bill Maher had a live show on HBO a few hours later.

What happens next will NOT surprise you…

“How could [liberals] not stand up against Sharia Law, which is the law in so many Muslim countries, which is the law of oppression?”

“I am absolutely sure that ISIS thinks that everything they do—every horrific crime, every atrocity—is an act of justice, and an act for God. First of all, I’m not ‘demonizing,’ I’m characterizing. How did we get to this place where just describing something is demonizing, and I’m not so sure it’s a very small percentage. Maybe it’s a small percentage who carry out terrorist acts, but it’s not a small percentage who believe in some of the illiberal ideas that support terrorists.”

Which is not to say that we agree with everything Bill Maher had to say. If we just got out of the Middle East, they would still want to kill us and this war would still be going on. But even here, when one of his panelist tried to blame the attack and attacks like it on America, Maher shut him down.

There are so few liberals who have the courage to be intellectually honest when it comes to terrorism. Bill Maher is one of them, for that we give him heaps of kudos.

The more people who publicly illustrate exactly what Islam stands for, what Islam actually is, the better we’ll be able to fight radical Islamic extremists. Terrorist. Before we can destroy the enemy, we must know thy enemy. As Maher said, probably not the Amish.

God bless Asra because she has a tough road to hoe. How do you reform Islam? She is fundamentally changing Islam to make it palatable.

He does make sense on occasion. Bat crap crazy most of it, but he does get it right on occasion.

No amount of deflection of the truth will make this death cult palatable. Let’s just call it what it is.

You want BOOS? How many, and what color?

    • sabata2 November 15, 2015 at 8:38 pm

      Not “boobs”, “boos”.
      Like Hissing, Jeering, and Shouting.

    I’m so tired of reading

“You don’t blame Germany for Hitler, don’t blame terrorists on Islam”

    What crap.

A more accurate comparison would be nazism to Islam.

Both are/were plagues on the earth, ironically with a lot of same core values.

Yet, the world saw the need to eradicate them and they did.

Islam should be next. Just cause they categorize themselves as a “religion” we have to keep tolerating this?

If hitler had labeled it ” third riech religion” we would have to accept, respect, reason and assimilate with them???

I guess that’s it. Imagine, an entire movement, world domination, toppled with the omission of one word.

Hitler wasn’t following a doctrine of death. He essentially made it up as he went. We also attacked nazi Germany. All the more reason to attack radical Islam.

Yet this is taught in Islam!
    Articulation of taqiyya

According to the authoritative Arabic text, Al-Taqiyya Fi Al-Islam: “Taqiyya [deception] is of fundamental importance in Islam. Practically every Islamic sect agrees to it and practices it. We can go so far as to say that the practice of taqiyya is mainstream in Islam, and that those few sects not practicing it diverge from the mainstream…Taqiyya is very prevalent in Islamic politics, especially in the modern era.”

The primary Quranic verse sanctioning deception with respect to non-Muslims states: “Let believers not take for friends and allies infidels instead of believers. Whoever does this shall have no relationship left with Allah – unless you but guard yourselves against them, taking precautions.” (Quran 3:28; see also 2:173; 2:185; 4:29; 22:78; 40:28.)

Al-Tabari’s (838-923 AD) Tafsir, or Quranic exegeses, is essentially a standard reference in the entire Muslim world. Regarding 3:28, he wrote: “If you [Muslims] are under their [infidels’] authority, fearing for yourselves, behave loyally to them, with your tongue, while harbouring inner animosity for them… Allah has forbidden believers from being friendly or on intimate terms with the infidels in place of believers – except when infidels are above them [in authority]. In such a scenario, let them act friendly towards them.”

Regarding 3:28, the Islamic scholar Ibn Kathir (1301-1373) wrote: “Whoever at any time or place fears their [infidels’] evil, may protect himself through outward show.”

As proof of this, he quotes Muhammad’s companions. Abu Darda said: “Let us smile to the face of some people while our hearts curse them.” Al-Hassan said: “Doing taqiyya is acceptable till the day of judgment [in perpetuity].”

Other prominent ulema, such as al- Qurtubi , al-Razi, and al-Arabi have extended taqiyya to cover deeds. Muslims can behave like infidels – from bowing down and worshipping idols and crosses to even exposing fellow Muslims’ “weak spots” to the infidel enemy – anything short of actually killing a fellow Muslim.

      Robert,

You are extremely well informed, how so? And are there any books you would recommend.

      Thanks for your contribution.

“I have a crazy idea: Why don’t we get out of Muslim lands?” ”

Because to them IT IS ALL MUSLIM LANDS.

  8. Art Davila November 14, 2015 at 11:29 pm

I’m one of those “few” Liberals who has no problem speaking out against Islamic terrorists. I just don’t act like an Islamsphobe about it. I would speak out more about it on your Facebook page but in haste, without warning. Unblock me please.

  9. Lori Toupal November 15, 2015 at 12:48 am

The one problem I have with Maher is that he doesn’t seem to understand that there is a difference between religions. He lumps all believers in together, as though Christians are just as delusional and possibly dangerous as Muslims.

  10. Michael November 15, 2015 at 10:25 am

Might I suggest a somewhat recent book on Islam, entitled “The trouble with Islam today,” by Irshad Manji A Muslim,s call for reform in her faith.

For those of us who are struggling with Islam, it is imperative that we come to better understand what is driving the fringe element. Be assured that there is a moderate Islam and they struggle each and everyday to educate their brethren and work to communicate true Islam to non-Muslims.
