In 2024, Shannon Steel was honored with the President's Lifetime Achievement Award, and it turns out she is nothing more than a fraudster who scammed people to fund her lavish lifestyle. But what else is new?

According to the New York Post:

A Detroit businesswoman, once honored by President Joe Biden, allegedly posed as a US ambassador and a banker to con several victims out of over $1 million to fund her lavish lifestyle.

Shannon Monet Steel claimed to be the Ambassador to the First Lady of the Central African Republic, a hotel owner and a banker with $350 million in assets to fool her victims in her years-long scheme, federal prosecutors accused, according to the Detroit News on Wednesday.

The lack of decency is astonishing. Financial crimes are some of the most troublesome, as they can, quite frankly, ruin one’s livelihood. The fact that people like Steel can go to sleep at night while committing such crimes is a level of evil that has no place in a sane society. Her thinking that she could get away with such crimes is also baffling, to say the very least.

Steel, 42, was arrested and slapped with fraud charges after allegedly targeting at least eight victims between 2022 and 2026, according to court documents obtained by the outlet.

Why am I not surprised that the Biden Administration honored someone who turned out to be a lying fraudster who stole over $1 million from innocent victims? One would assume that the president’s staff would do their homework to ensure that they are not celebrating fake businesswomen who scam people for a living, but I digress.

What a disgrace.
