Get out. A liberal tax plan to punish the boom sticks didn't work and crime went up instead of down? I need a minute to get over the sheer shock.

In selling his gun tax to the public, Burgess predicted it would generate between $300,000 and $500,000 annually. The money would be used to study the root causes of gun violence in hopes of reducing the costs to taxpayers.

But Mike Coombs, owner of Outdoor Emporium, the last large gun dealer left in Seattle, said the actual tax revenue is almost certainly just over $100,000, a figure based on information he says the city shared with his lawyers.

So it has failed in generating revenue, and failed in stemming "gun violence." The gun tax is a failure.

Seattle is filled with organic sushi-loving leftists who look forward to the next art exhibition of sculpted Trump nudes. There's no revenue to be made from pothead vegans with "Coexist" stickers on their Priuses. Said people will not be acquiring firearms anytime soon. You know who will? Men prancing about in saggy pants who enjoy pursuits of a criminal nature. And gun owners with the noodles to buy outside the city of Seattle. Both facts the dunder-headed twits who penned this little tax law either failed to take into account, or didn't care to.

Senior editor of TheGunMag.com, and member of the Second Amendment Foundation, Dave Workman, had a few insights to offer:

Dave Workman doesn’t criticize the study, but he does think the city council should have predicted the results of the gun tax, such as gun dealers leaving with no drop in gun ownership. As for the gun violence, he says that too should not surprise anyone.

“All these gun control laws affect the wrong people,” Workman said. “The gang bangers don’t go in and buy ammunition at retail, at least not around here. It certainly hasn’t stopped them from getting their hands on firearms.”

Boomity bang, bang, folks. Any gun control measure proposed by an idiot leftist ignores basic reality: criminals skirt the laws. Law-abiding citizens don't break the laws, but they will find ways to get what they want without being taxed even more than they already are. As is happening in Seattle.

So while we can't say that "This gun tax has directly resulted in more gun violence" we can say it didn't work. Seattle gun-lovers are going to neighboring cities without gun taxes. Criminals are still getting their criminal on.

Reality. It's a thing.
