We mock trigger warnings and safe spaces here at LwC because...well, they're highly mockable and deserving of mocking. But as a right-leaning website, it's easy to dismiss as politics. But what about when it's Ralph Nader mocking you for it?

Yes, THAT Ralph Nader.

You can’t say this about that, and you can’t say that about this. And the employer tells you to hush. And perhaps your spouse tells you to hush, and your kids tell you to hush. They used ethnic jokes to reduce tension in the 1930s, ’40s, ’50s. And they’d laugh at each other’s jokes and hurl another one.

You see it on campuses — what is it called, trigger warnings? It’s gotten absurd. I mean, you repress people, you engage in anger, and what you do is turn people into skins that are blistered by moonbeams. Young men now are far too sensitive because they’ve never been in a draft. They’ve never had a sergeant say, “Hit the ground and do 50 push-ups and I don’t care if there’s mud there.”

They’re so sensitive to injustice, and then they don’t see any response to their work. … And what will happen when the press turns on them? The press finished off Occupy. The minute they were ejected it was no longer news. Not that they knew how to organize anything. Not that they knew how to take any advice from the ’70s and ’60s.

In summation...

Yes, there is a degree of "get off of my lawn" and "I would have gotten away with it if not for you meddling kids" to Nader's complaints. It's still funny as hell though.

How obnoxious, overly-sensitive and pathetic do you have to be to get Ralph Nader, yes THAT Ralph Nader, to go all crotchety old man on you? Rhetorical question. Fact is, these trigger warning ninnymuggins are not only an embarrassment to Nader, they're an embarrassment to humanity. Do I believe Nader's old fuddy duddy comments will be the shot heard round the world? No. Sadly it's going to take much more than people like Nader, and even Obama, to school these brats. What college students need is a swift reality kick to their diaper-stuffed pants.

By the way, it's leftists like Nader and Obama, leftists like Pelosi and Clinton, who have fostered the "you're so special" environment these trigger-warning students occupy. The coddled generation acts coddled because they were coddled. They were told for years, by their parents, by their teachers, how special they were for accomplishing nothing. Their bad choices were blamed on others, on society, or credited to the nasty one percent. Is it really any wonder that a generation raised in leftism would be anything other than spineless, pathetic amoebas? It is what the left wants to create, isn't it? Little dependent half-wits looking to daddy government to solve their problems (read Dear Liberals: Your Cult-like Faith in Government is Disturbing...).

But apparently Nader doesn't get that. So once again, the left makes a mess, then blames others for it.
