The State of the Union is really a silly event, where the President gives a political speech that isn't even supposed to be political and everyone gives political response, with a lot of mindless pomp and circumstance, and even more mindless symbolism, in this case an empty seat. Ted Cruz had a brilliant response to it though.

The White House tweeted this...

The seat is to “remind every single one of our representatives that it’s their responsibility to do something.” By something, of course, he means whatever he says. Otherwise you're a racist. Also, unwilling to "reach across the aisle." You racist, non-reacher-acrosser-of-aisles you.

Ted Cruz's response? An empty seat to symbolize even MORE victims that this President and his ideology ignore.

To date, since the legalization of abortion thanks to Roe v. Wade, over 50 million babies have been butchered inside their mothers wombs, then sucked out, dumped, or their body parts sold, all while people like Hillary Clinton (who was just endorsed by the Baby Killers in Chief) and Barack Obama celebrate their demise, while scolding you, responsible American gun-owner, for exercising your Second Amendment right to self-defense. Because "gun violence."

No word yet from the DNC on "baby violence."

And leftists wonder why we don't like them much. It's a real head-scratcher, ain't it?

Ten points to Ted Cruz for pointing out what should've been totally obvious: the empty chair ploy to make us feel terrible for guns is not only pathetic, but misplaced. Also, did Obama not see the 2012 RNC convention, where film legend Clint Eastwood had an empty chair out to mock Obama's presidency? Has Obama not heard of #Eastwooding? How out of touch can he be? Damn, he really is getting old.
