Yes! Conservative Women Fight Liberal #ADayWithoutAWoman Protest...

Kacie Burnett
March 08, 2017

Today is International Women's Day, aka #ADayWithoutAWoman (see Teachers Ditch Work for #DayWithoutAWoman, Force School Closure...). A day where feminists wear red in solidarity with menstruation... Or something. They also don't do things (like work), but instead do a whole bunch of protesting. So a regular day for the ladies in the red.

Some women aren't feeling all the protesting though, for obvious reasons (watch 'Peaceful' Feminist Protester Lights Trump Supporter's Hair on Fire). They've decided to respond with their own movement, and it's epic...

The group Right2Speak is organizing a "positive counter-movement" to the A Day Without a Woman protest. While A Day Without a Woman is encouraging women not to go to work and to avoid shopping in order to shine a spotlight on the social, economic, cultural and political contributions of women, Right2Speak wants women "to continue working, serving, giving, sharing and loving their communities, their families and their endeavors."

"We are voices of reason and integrity, of both love and liberty," said Right2Speak member Robin Moore. "I will fight not just for my voice to be heard, but for the voices of all women who are being marginalized by this far-left movement."

The group is encouraging women to post photos on social media of themselves doing what they love using the hashtags #NotMyProtest and #WeShowUp. Right2Speak is also asking women to attend or organize "power lunches" in their area and to post pictures from the event.

Yes, that's #WeShowUp. As in to work, the gym... The shower. All unfamiliar territory for many a feminist, I know.

My prediction? This movement won't enjoy the same amount of coverage as #ADayWithoutAWoman or #ADayWithoutImmigrants. I'm sure you can guess why - doesn't fit the mainstream narrative. You know the one. It assumes all women hate Trump and are victims of the patriarchy. And are in dire need of free tampons... Hence all the red clothing.

The irony here? Feminists profess to hate it when female voices aren't heard, but manage to drown out other women with their incessant squawking. Thus the need for responses like this. Regular, non-shebeasts have to speak up when the Lena Dunhams of the world claim to be the arbiters of all things womanly. Because feminists may be many things but womanly isn't one of them. Of course, you already knew that...
