Understatement of the past quarter-millennium, free speech is pretty freakin' awesome. When speech be free, you get to say whatever you want, no matter how stupid or "offensive" it might be. Though, it's best to be careful what you say around leftists at Wellesley College. You might get yourself beaten up...

An editorial from Wellesley College’s student newspaper put out a call to arms on Wednesday against anyone who engages in alleged “racist” behavior.

Ironically enough, the piece starts out responding to what the author sees as unfair allegations that Wellesley students and professors foster “an environment where free speech is not allowed or is a violated right. Many outside sources have painted us as a bunch of hot house flowers who cannot exist in the real world.”

“Shutting down rhetoric that undermines the existence and rights of others is not a violation of free speech; it is hate speech.”

I know the left is determined to make "hate speech" a thing, but it isn't a thing. "Hate speech" is simply "Speech with which a liberal disagrees, but has no rebuttal to, so SHUT IT DOWN YOU HATE MONGER" in case you needed a quick definition.

“The founding fathers put free speech in the Constitution as a way to protect the disenfranchised and to protect individual citizens from the power of the government. The spirit of free speech is to protect the suppressed, not to protect a free-for-all where anything is acceptable, no matter how hateful and damaging."

So close. The first sentence is kind of right, save the "disenfranchised" part. Free speech is meant to protect everyone. Not just the victim class, a class designated by the left which changes daily. The second sentence is as erroneous as cake without sweetener. Free speech is meant to protect the "free-for-all where anything is acceptable."

Things get more interesting when the writer declares that “hostility may be warranted” against those who “refuse to adapt their beliefs” or engage in racism after (I’m assuming) Wellesley’s nightly struggle sessions. If an individual continues supporting “racist politicians” then “appropriate measures” should be taken “to hold them accountable for their actions.”

Listen up, leftists. Free speech that comes with a list of rules as long as Atlas Shrugged isn't free. Not by a long shot. Just stop lying, already. You guys despise free speech. The same way an inbred ISIS soldier despises a box of delicious Jimmy Dean sausages. Yes, that was a culturally insensitive remark and no, there's nothing you can do about it. #freespech.

So, you guys thought it wise to invoke American history, eh? Okay, we can go there. Here's a startling revelation. Our powdered wigged founding padres handcrafted amendment numero uno to protect us from you. Yeah, you read that right. Free speech is there so tender-hearted little pipsqueaks, like you, can't use the government to silence or punish the rest of us for hurting your precious feelings. In fact, the entire Bill of Rights was designed specifically to fight the scourge of big-government, authoritarian leftism. Still wanna talk history?

For some reason, most likely their low brain cell count, violence seems to be the only language leftists speak. Whether it's losing an election or encountering a pro-lifer, you can usually bet on the left's reaction being "KILL IT WITH FIRE!"

The truth is threatening violence only proves your argument is weak. That, or you have no argument to make at all. Maybe spend a little time turning your rhetoric into something intelligible. You know, instead of encouraging each other to harass, beat, and arson the crap out of your detractors. You might grab yourself an occasional win. Just saying.
