White guilt seems to be what Democrats are counting on in 2020. What with the number of white people who disappointed them in 2016. I'm looking at you my white sisters (see Leftists Blame ‘White Women’ For Election Losses and Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards: White Women, This is Your Fault). But is white guilt really just a new version of white pride?

That was the question posed by We The Internet.

A lot of the white people, meaning upper middle-class white people who moan about cultural appropriation and so on, and who kind of self flatulate about being white. It's actually a new form of white pride.

Whenever I see white people attacking white people, I think you really are just showing off about how special you are. There's something very ugly about that.

So when a woke, upper-middle-class white person lectures the rest of the white people about how he or she has checked his or her privilege, what that white person is saying is "I'm better than you, I know I'm better than you, and because of that, I am more worthy than you." Shorter white liberal: I'm a good white person. I'm the best white person. My whiteness is preferred. All those white people who are not just like me are wrong, unworthy.

Yeah, okay, I guess a case can be made that liberals espousing their white guilt are actually channeling a new form of white pride. Gosh, kind of seems like it would be a problem, especially if we were to replace "whiteness" with any other color.
