August is the time for back to school shopping. Parents buy notebooks and a sharp new outfit for their kids. Teachers stock up on Fireball Whiskey and White Claw Hard Seltzer. And a Texas gun store wants you to stock up on firearms.

Why yes, this is upsetting to some people!

The owner spoke to the press. No, it's not an advertisement for little Timmy. It's an advertisement for little Timmy's teachers (see Kids Programs Raffling Dozens of Guns to Promote School Safety and Georgia School System Will Now Let Staff Carry Guns).

"We have friends and family who are teachers and our way of reaching out and saying thank you is by offering a summer long promotion of discounted training courses, firearms and accessories. A lot of Texans are not aware, but it is now legal to conceal carry in some colleges, and for teachers in certain school districts to conceal carry as well. We are wrapping up the program that we have been running since the beginning of June, with a huge sale to benefit everyone."

Personally, I find this to be a valuable service. But I'm also not a nincompoop who is triggered over the word gun. Nor do I think the owner would be handing out free copies of Super Mario Kart with every AR-15 to appeal to the youths. So at least we can keep the dangerous video games and guns separately, am I right?
