New York has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. Law-abiding citizens have a terrible time legally acquiring a firearm to protect themselves. But if you're not law-abiding, and maybe not a citizen, having a gun and capping a gang rival is no problemo. Here's video from the New York subway of a gang-related shooting. Warning: violence. It's a guy being shot, so it's not like a Disney cartoon.

A suspect reportedly has been taken into custody Monday following the murder of a man on a New York City subway platform a day earlier in what is being investigated by police as a "gang-related" attack, possibly involving an MS-13 member.

The identity of the suspect is unclear, but a police source that spoke to the New York Post said the individual is currently being questioned by police at a precinct house.

“We have a person in custody,” the source told the newspaper. “Motive is gang-related.”

Law enforcement sources told NY1 earlier today that the shooter belongs to MS-13 and the victim was a member of the 18th Street gang, one of MS-13's rivals. An interactive map created by the New York Daily News shows both gangs have been active in the area where the killing happened.

Yes, They're Here Illegally. There's usually a theme to our MS-13 stories: the gang-members are often illegal immigrants. Meaning they never should've been in the United States to commit crime to begin with.

The man shot died at the scene. No word yet on if New Yorkers or liberals on Twitter will demand even more gun control from New York. Somehow I doubt it.
