Chris Pratt Loves America: Shows Support For Veterans with Push-up Challenge

Team Crowder
August 20, 2016

The only thing less shocking than Chris Pratt being the most pro-military, pro-America, pro-Apple pie celebrity (see AWESOME: Chris Pratt Releases Video Honoring Veterans For 9/11… and Chris Pratt Posts Awesome Reagan Memorial Day Video. Liberals Rage. He Doubles Down…) is how much he makes all of us at LwC swoon. In a manly way, obviously. Like two vikings sharing a pint. A pint of dragon tears.

So Chris Pratt Doing Push Ups to help draw awareness to the alarming suicide rate among our veterans? Just click the play button...

Thanks @canadianoutlaw for the #22pushupchallenge Everyday 22 veterans take their own lives. Please know there are people out there thinking about you, praying for you and who appreciate your sacrifice. If you are thinking of harming yourself call 1-800-273-8255.

A video posted by chris pratt (@prattprattpratt) on Aug 12, 2016 at 6:44pm PDT

He starts off by saying, “Hey, Chris Pratt here with my darling wife. This is Anna Faris and Chris Pratt. We’re responding to Will Dodge, @canadianoutlaw, [and the] 22 Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness for the 22 men and women who commit suicide everyday, our veterans. We’re thinking about you and want to raise awareness for this terrible reality.”

The organization 22Kill first pitched the campaign and have since said over 7 million push-ups have been done in the name of veteran suicide prevention. The organization hopes to reach a total of 22 million push-ups as they continue to raise awareness for the horrifying reality many military members face after leaving service.

All right, so I have to start by saying I'm not really one for symbolism. I've never been in on the ribbon campaigns. Didn't participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge. And if I hashtag, it's to mock the hashtags.

But sometimes there are movements that need awareness raising. Especially as it relates to those men and women who have served our country. So while other celebrities might be lining their own pockets while pretending to care about the planet (ahem, Leonardo DiCaprio), Chris Pratt and Anna Ferris are dropping and giving us 22 pushups. We'll take it.

Speaking of pushups, have you seen our latest episode of Louder with Crowder? No one does a single pushup. So you're free to enjoy nomming on ice cream without guilt. We aim to please. You're welcome.
