2019 has taken a weird turn when we find ourselves defending soccer. Not so much the sport as much as the U.S. Women’s National Team. Who beat the Taiwanese team like an analogy that would get this website deplatformed. The USWNT not only beat them bad, but they also enjoyed doing so. Celebrating each goal of their 13-0 evisceration. Because we’re America. And f*** you.
Apparently, not everyone is happy about this. Specifically, losers.
Unbelievable. @KaylynKyle I hope little girls were watching that game and I hope they know that they should never allow someone to tell them to “tone it down” not even a former soccer player

For me, it is disrespectful. It is disgraceful. Hats off to Thailand for holding their head high.
I just think it was way too much scoring, way too much celebrating. I just think there’s a way to win and a way to lose. I just think there’s sportsmanship involved when you’re way up. I think there’s a way to pull back and certainly not celebrate the way they celebrated on [goals] 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13.
To be fair though, this was a Canadian sports channel. I can understand the inferiority complex in anything other than curling.
But in the realm of people having questionable behavior on the soccer field, this doesn’t even rank. Check out Saudi Arabian Soccer Team DEFIES Moment of Silence for London Bridge Victims…. Or even Muslims Force Pro Soccer Player to Shave ‘Anti-Islamic’ Mohawk.
Let’s not also pretend that soccer isn’t one of the most dramatically played sports there is. How else are you going to score those penalty kicks if you don’t faint at the slightest touch? The dramatics are outranked only by pre-MMA match up trash-talking. Which, to be honest, is also glorious. Spare me the hate tweets.
Keep winning, ladies! NO APOLOGIES!
