WATCH: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Supports Taxing Corporations 90% at SXSW
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was in rare form at SXSW. Yes, rare even for her (see Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Attacks Capitalism as 'Irredeemable' and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Describes America as 'Garbage' in Interview). The derp was so strong, if you ground it up and rubbed it on a brisket, the Austin City Council would regulate the smoke. Cortez started down a brain fart about how exciting it is to be automated out of work. And being overrun by robots. Hopefully they don't all look like Nancy Pelosi. Then came the tax hikes, a proposal she seemed to be really excited by.

Bill Gates has suggested taxing robots at 90%. What he's really saying is "tax corporations at 90%." But it's easier to say tax a robot."
There was a homicide on South Congress, as AOC and the applauding audience just killed irony. Because if corporations were taxed at 90% NONE OF THEM WOULD BE THERE. If corporations were taxed at 90%, there wouldn't be a SXSW to hear elected officials promote ideas that would have prevented there being a SXSW. Tech giants, app makers, and other poindexters would never have had their success if they were taxed at 90%. Their lack of success would mean a lack of a conference. Which used to just be a cool place to hear new music until Californians started moving to Austin.
Moving to Austin because they got taxed out of California.
You almost want to roll up a copy of the Wall Street Journal and start bopping people on the nose.
Taxing at such a percentage doesn't work because at that percentage, there's no reason to work. See how that works?
