College students enraged over free speech event, so they're demanding free abortion pills to make them feel better
Students at the University of Albany have some strange demands for their administration. These demands came after a coalition of several student groups called "Queer Joy" prevented speaker Ian Haworth from beginning a talk last week. The talk, ironically, was on "free speech".
The group shouted Haworth down, stole pizza meant for attendees, and bizarrely formed a conga line. Despite their efforts, Haworth was eventually able to give his speech in a new "controlled access" venue. But now, the leftist students are demanding reparations in the form of "transphobia" training for student organizations, free hormone therapy, and...abortion pills.

Queer Joy's suggested starting script for a public comment hearing reads, in part, "I urge the SA Senate and UAlbany administration to join me in supporting our queer siblings by heeding the following demands and breaking their silence to denounce transphobia in the wake of April 4th’s peaceful protests of known transphobe Ian Haworth’s presence on campus. Haworth’s transphobic rhetoric has fueled the national climate of transphobia, which poses a clear and present threat to trans people across the nation and at UAlbany. To allow him to promote his hateful rhetoric on campus is to be complicit in his attacks on trans people.”
Among the demands:
"I also demand the University at Albany provide more gender affirming resources on campus Including but not limited to offering long-term care programs that provide low cost or free hormone replacement therapy on campus."
"I demand the university provide low cost or free mifepristone (abortion pills) on campus."
"I demand that all recognized Student Organizations and their members be required to complete training that explicitly prohibits transphobia"
"I demand that all charges against the two peaceful student protesters who were arrested be dropped and that they do not face any academic repercussions."
So, to sum up, a group of children successfully got an event they didn't like delayed and moved, and now, among a slew of other demands, they would like some baby-murder pills in reparation. Makes total sense.
