U2's Bono: Three Questions ALL Anti-Trump Protesters Should Ask Themselves...

Team Crowder
January 20, 2017

Yeah yeah, I saw the story about U2 shelving new music because it seemed "dated" after Trump's victory. Everyone makes mistakes. Besides, their lead singer Bono is a rare breed. He's a celebrity who has managed to be politically active while also staying intellectually honest. I know, in a sea of Alec Baldwins and Robert De Niros, it's something we're not used to seeing. Levelheadedness and celebrities are an occurrence rarer than Lena Dunham in a shower (see ‘Calling All Trump Supporters Racist is Hypocritical’… Says Jon Stewart and Katie Couric Pressures Betty White to Bash Trump, Betty Shows Pure Class).

Bono has some good advice. Now our 45th President has been sworn in, people who hate Trump should ask themselves these questions...

I opposed Trump while all the time understanding that many of the people who support him are the kind of people I grew up with, and can see myself in to this day. In my head at least the election result demanded I ask myself several questions:

Am I missing something here?

Am I out of touch with American values?

Am I out of touch with the American people?

It's clear a giant constituency in the country felt ignored or patronized … they are fearful of the future, as are a growing number of Europeans. I understand and respect that, and I want to try and understand those fears better.

This is what they call "empathy." Or the ability to step outside of oneself and observe why others feel and think the way they do. It requires a great deal of awareness, of which the left has little. Clearly.

Kudos to Bono for speaking up. With the tension and witch hunting going on among leftist circles right now, speaking out against their silliness takes some brass ones. Take notes, fellow celebrity sewer beasts.

It's important to note that Bono is also echoing a sentiment that conservatives have been saying for a while now (read Dear Violent Liberal Turds Protesting a Fair Election: You're The Reason for Trump!). It's time to lay down the pitchforks and Molotov cocktails. You know, so we can work together as Americans. Remember all that talk of peace and unity the left was preaching? I think it was way back in... November. Suppose that no longer applies since Hillary's posterior isn't sitting in the Oval Office. Interesting.
