It's been a great week for the White House, with the passage of Trump's tax reform. Many of us were waiting for the president to put a damper on the good news with one of his signature tweets. Well, waiting isn't really the right word. More like dreading.

Thankfully, the President was too busy to tweet. That, or Apple slowed down his iPhone 7 and he couldn't get a signal. Instead, he paid a surprise visit to Walter Reed Hospital to say Merry Christmas and thank you to some of our wounded warriors.

The Donald even brought something special for one veteran.

President Donald Trump awarded the Purple Heart to 1st Lt Victor E. Prato on Thursday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in the soldier's hospital bed.

Prato, 25, of the 127th Airborne Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina was injured in November of 2017 while deployed in Afghanistan.

He suffered multiple soft tissue injuries following a vehicle-borne IED blast and motor vehicle rollover. He has served in the Army for two years and is from Somers, New York.

This is the version of the Donald we like.

Leftists are spending the holidays trashing Republicans for letting people keep their money and stocking their fallout shelters for the impending net neutrality doomsday. Not Trump. He's spending the holidays comforting the less fortunate. Trump's far from perfect, but he nailed it on this one.

Tis the reason for the season. Putting your selfish desires aside and doing right by your fellow man. Giving instead of taking. Looking out for your friends. Spreading good cheer. Good luck getting those leftist Scrooges aboard that train. It's going to take a lot more than three ghosts to turn them around.
