Leftist Freak Over Cut in Sex Ed Funding
Leftists believe Trump is a racist who wants to slaughter invalids and use women like garden hoes (see Desperation? Wikileaks Reveal DNC Made FAKE Sexist Trump Ads on Craigslist). So basically a modern Mohammad. The newest accusation from the panicked left claims Trump wants to get teen chicks pregnant. Not by him, you pervert, by defunding sex education classes. Get your mind out of the drainage pipes.
The Guardian wrote a new column titled "Teenage pregnancy in the US is at an all-time low. Trump could soon change that." Pretty self explanatory.
Less than one year from now, this class and dozens like it in the region will probably vanish, swept away by the Trump administration’s decision to cut the entirety of the funding for the program, known simply as Teen Pregnancy Prevention. The decision was announced with little warning in July. Eighty-one programs across the country, including Tulsa Youth Services, which funds Martin’s class, received identical notice that their grants would end on 30 June 2018 – and not, as planned, in 2020. The cuts add up to $213.6m.
The timing makes the cuts particularly brutal, national advocates say, coinciding as it does with the greatest period of reduction in teenage pregnancy the US has ever experienced. Although the US rate has spent two decades in decline, the country’s teen birth ratio was until recently the highest in the industrialized world. In 2011, there were 57 teen births in the US for every 1,000 teenage girls, a rate roughly equal to Kyrgyzstan’s.
"We have to teach this stuff, it's important," said LaKala Williams, 18, who went through a sex education course funded by the grant and is now involved with the education efforts. "We all want to lower teen birth rates, and so, why the cuts? Do you want these young kids to get pregnant? Is that what they want?"
Gasp. Sputter. This sounds bad. This may come as a surprise, but the people backing these budget cuts don't have an evil master plan to get all American teenage girls pregnant. They just don't want to spend MILLIONS on teaching kids a lesson their parents could teach for free.
So how is little Susie going to keep from getting prego? Her parents. Individuals who are responsible for her. You know, the people who aren't the government. And for those without parents? Meet Youtube. In the last six years, kiddos are acquiring internet access like cavities. Problem solved!
Sorry leftists, but the government isn't responsible for raising children. For good reason too. The government isn't good at doing things and shouldn't be trusted with such an important task (see Oregon Parents with Low IQs Have Children Taken by CPS and Heartbreaking: Why Big Gov't Stole This 6-Year-Old From Her Family). Cutting wasteful expenditures takes priority over teaching guys and gals about the birds and the bees. Get over it.
