POWERFUL: NFL Star Ray Lewis Puts #BlackLivesMatter on Notice
Things got emotional in a recent video Ray Lewis posted to Facebook. He's not been impressed with the likes of BlackLivesMatter. Can't say we blame him. So the former Ravens linebacker set to vent his frustration... Particularly with the constant self-victimization that BLM embraces. He cites rising numbers in black on black crime and chastises self-professed activists for ignoring the main cause of black deaths. Overall? He hits the nail on the head. And does so with passion.
"I'm trying to figure out if black lives really matter," Lewis said in the video..."The March murder rate rose by 29 percent, but we're not rioting in the streets over black-on-black crime.""I'm trying to figure out in my mind why no one is paying attention to black men killing black men," Lewis added. "Why do we always find ourselves as the victims, and now we have the separation once again that we're being victimized because of one bad white cop, two bad white cops, three bad white cops, killing a young black brother. But every day we have black-on-black crime, killing each other."
"I know black lives matter, because I'm a black man, but man, stop killing each other. Man, we got to put these guns down in Chicago. Baltimore, Miami, man it ain't that hard. You got to be OK with earning a right living. It ain't supposed to be easy," Lewis said. "...If we don't change what we're doing not only will our kids not have a future, but we might find ourselves extinct."
He joins Jim Brown and Richard Sherman in speaking out against the popular movement. Of course, because he dared question the group's motivation, there was some not-quite-tolerant responses...
How convenient for BlackLivesMatter. If you disagree with them, you're either a racist or a sellout. Maybe I'm mixing my words, but isn't calling someone a "racist" or a "sellout" just because he disagrees with your platform, kind of racist? If not racist, it's certainly close-minded.
Also here's something inconvenient: Ray Lewis is right. Black on black crime is through the roof. But you're not supposed to say that. Even though, as already mentioned, plenty of other NFL players have said the exact same thing. Even pastors and professors have made mention of this glaring hypocrisy of the BLM movement. Problem is, that's not the narrative. The entire point of BlackLivesMatter is to perpetuate this notion that racism is alive and well. White folks, they're out to kill black folks any chance they get. The narrative must stay alive in order for BLM to exist, garner attention, garner funds. They need to perpetuate racism. BLM also wants to stir up a little violence of their own...
Any time a racist BLM supporter can gin up racism, they do. They even make it up. Like: Black Professor Cries 'Racial Profiling!' New Camera Footage says...NO or Black Radio Host Hilariously Calls out Fraud, Shaun King, on his 'Blackness'
Kudos to Ray Lewis for speaking out. We need more voices of opposition to this hatred.
