Tim Allen's Shocking - and Hysterical - Clinton Insult...
Tim Allen is a favorite here at LwC (see Tim Allen Opens Up: “I’m a fiscal conservative…” and Dang. Tim Allen Gets It. Sounds Off on Guns…). I mean, he has a "conservative comedy" show that doesn't suck because it's funny first and conservative second. Shocking concept, I know. But it works. He's also not afraid to openly discuss how much he dislikes Democrats...
First, while he isn't crazy about either party, he's MUCH less crazy about one...
Unearned responses, unearned praise, unearned income: I have opinions about it. When you watch the debates, on both sides you see clowns who say shit that ain't ever going to happen, but lately one party is the free shit party. They are just telling people they're going to get all sorts of free shit. When you say you're going to get free education, free health care — f—, free brown loafers — of course everybody's going to say yes to that. But you don't mean it. That's how you rack up debt, and debt is killing us. Whatever party is going to get us out of debt is my party.
Then he was asked why the show has taken shots at Hillary Clinton, but not Donald Trump.
It's a little surprising to me. We have a very liberal writing staff, so I'm surprised they haven't taken a shot at him. But we're not sure he's going to last, whereas the Clintons are like herpes: Just when you think they're gone, they show up again.
Yes, he went there. There you go. His joke works because it benefits from being both funny and accurate. Granted, herpes are less irritating. So I've heard...
But here's a little lesson for you: Last Man Standing's ratings are fantastic. No matter how hard critics try, no matter how far down the schedule the network buries it, it's been a tremendous success for it's timeslot.
LAST MAN STANDING (ABC): 7,470,000 viewers
Contrast that with Lena Dunham's "Girls" on HBO, which despite being pushed, renewed and promoted by the far-left entertainment industry, was never able to achieve anything even resembling ratings success. (Read "HBO's 'Girls' is propaganda, not entertainment" here)
GIRLS (HBO): 670,000 viewers
Wow. You mean to tell me that there's actually a market for funny programming with a slightly conservative-leaning bent? Moreso than the award-winning, feminist screed that critics love to praise as "groundbreaking" while simultaneously not watching it? Who'd have thought?
...And people in the entertainment industry wonder why they're out of touch. They still can't get their head around the fact that fewer and fewer Americans are going to the movies, or even paying for cable. This is why. It's the fact that for every rarity like "Last Man Standing," the networks try and thrust ten "Girls" upon the American public in the name of "equality." Time and time again, the people have spoken with their wallets. Time and time again, Hollywood continues to ignore.
Side note: Lena Dunham did lie about being raped, and has been caught molesting her little sister. So there's that. Learn more below.
