Tim Allen on "Last Man Standing" Return: I Identify as an Asian Woman...

Brodigan & Kirchoff
May 21, 2018

Tim Allen has been at the "Upfronts" to promote the return of "Last Man Standing." Since the return was confirmed, there's been some concern over the show's direction. Quell your fears. Tim Allen won't follow in the jiggly path of PC butterwhales.

I'm going to identify as an Asian woman that wants to be a European man. So I stay where I am. But in my head, we'll do the journey of what it's like to be an Asian woman in a European man's body. I eat a lot of Ramen. You'll see a lot of Asian dishes. It will be subtle.

"Last Man Standing" won't be losing its current edge (see WATCH: ‘Last Man Standing’ Brutally Mocks College Liberals and ‘Last Man Standing’ Digs In With Latest, Thorough Slam on Leftists). Should it continue down its path of leftist mockery, it'll likely slice and dice the ratings like a transwoman getting a boob lift.

Here's the cherry on top. Allen followed up about the war on politically incorrect comedy. Also known as just "comedy."

All of us in the stand-up world are seeing this and feeling this. And it's a little dangerous and uncomfortable that there are things you can't say because they may hurt people's feelings. Words don't mean anything. People say "words matter." But in my gut words don't matter. Intent matters.

Words do matter. Intent also matters. But what someone feels in reaction to words, that's what doesn't matter. A joke hurt your feelings? You're offended because someone insulted that which you enjoy? Go run up a hill. Save your whining for your overly paid therapist. Don't try to ruin jokes for people who actually possess emotional maturity.
