The TRUTH About the Trump Mural at the Migrant Detention Center
I witnessed a fight amongst friends on Facebook. They were talking about the detention center in Texas. Though not about how the Obama Administration and a complicit media covered it up when he was president. One friend made a comment questioning if the current news was true, because she didn't believe the media. Cue the anti-Trump pile on. To the left, it's crazy not to trust the press. That's Trump bulls***. Fake news is "fake" and what people say when they don't agree with the news. Lather, rinse, dye your hair blue and risk mental retardation.
As if the media hasn't given us ample reason not to trust them (see FAKE NEWS: Matt Damon is NOT Moving to Australia “Because of Trump” and Bill Maher Blasts HuffPo, BuzzFeed as “Fake News”). Case in point, that Trump mural you've all seen by now. Every outlet picked it up. Ran with the mural. It was creepy. It was dictatorish.
Turns out, it also wasn't the only mural of a U.S. President on the wall.
You can't possibly believe that the alleged legitimate media didn't see these other murals. But they just ran with the Trump one because that was the narrative they wanted to build.
And here's the thing. IF tensions are as bad as media are reporting they are, media shouldn't need to make stuff up. All that does is call ALL other reporting into question. Something both sides do. But we at least call out our side when it's done (as Crowder does in the time-stamped video below).
Also, think of this: media believes most people are too stupid to fact check themselves. Or too lazy to look into the story they're pushing to see if it's true. Only for citizens to say "Hey, it's not true." Let that sink in.
I doubt CNN, NYT, the AP, or anyone else will be correcting their stories.
