Every Sunday we turn on the NFL, it seems there’s less and less talk about football (see Uh Oh! NFL Ratings Drop MAJORLY Following Athlete Protests… and HILARIOUS: ‘South Park’ Blasts Colin Kaepernick with New ‘National Anthem’…). Enter Terry Bradshaw, who has a more poignant take on matters…
I do have a problem when people in this country don’t respect our flag and national anthem. All you got to do is look around – this country’s getting worse and worse and more and more immoral and we’re rotting from within.
All great empires die from within. We can’t talk about Jesus. We can’t mention that anymore. So we say ‘I’m religious’ – because if we say Jesus, you automatically are pigeon-holed and kicked off the desk.
You can’t talk about it. The two vice presidential guys are going at it and they are both saying what? ‘We’re religious’. What does that mean – you’re religious? Everybody is religious.
It’s less about the protest. It’s more about what got us here. Athletes, American athletes, who are paid millions of dollars to play an American game, are sitting out the national anthem. Sometimes it feels like we’re living a parallel universe where brainless zombies run the show.
Instead we’re living in a country which prioritizes victims, thrives on fake scandals, ignores real injustices, and won’t even speak the name of our enemies.
But if you dare mention “Jesus” you’re a freak who must be figuratively crucified. Jesus, and his followers, with their beliefs in right and wrong, moral and immoral, they’re the real trouble-makers. Hell hath no fury like a hedonistic culture against a Christian. Read Gay Activists Demand Churches Lose their Tax Exempt Status… Already?!
Bradshaw is right: empires rot from within. We’re penalizing what’s good, propping up what’s weird. Yes, I’m looking at you gender-non-binary whatevers who demand the rest us cater to your alternate universe of bizarre. No.
And it’s no coincidence that once the name “Jesus” is banned from (pick your venue) the rest of the culture rots. That might be what some of us call a “direct correlation.” But what do I know? I’m just a Jesus freak who believes in right and wrong.
