Early Sunday morning, there was a shooting at a gay night club in Orlando with up to 20 being reported dead. Obviously our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this horrible tragedy. Detail are sketchy at the moment, but the FBI is saying that radical Islam is a possible motive...

A shooting at an Orlando nightclub early Sunday morning has been described as a "domestic terror incident" with at least 20 fatalities and at least 42 hospitalized individuals, officials said.

At a press conference on Sunday at 7 a.m., when commenting on the Orlando night club incident, an FBI official was asked if the shooter, who was shot and killed by police, had ties to Jihadist terror groups. "At this time we're looking at all angles right now." the official said. "We do have suggestions that that individual may have leanings towards that, that particular ideology. But right now we can’t say definitively so we’re still running everything around.” The FBI also said the shooter "was organized and well-prepared," adding "he is not from this area."

Okay so even though we aren't certain, before I move to commentary, I need to include one more confirmation tweet.

Okay, so do we have 100% confirmation as to his every motive? No, of course not. However, I've taken some time this morning to research back to mass shootings in the United States as far as 2001. Not once, in any case, did the authorities even suggest Islamic terrorism without it turning out to be the actual case. Anytime it's suggested or semi-confirmed, it has invariably, been the case. Don't forget,  the authorities in San Bernardino took far longer to even admit the possible implication of Islam, despite having a pretty strong hunch from the outset.

All that to say that those who will scream "Islamophobia" don't seem to understand that the media and police are terrified to ever even admit Islamic terrorism is at play. They go out of their way to avoid it if they can. Okay? Okay.

Now, this brings me to the media malpractice. It matters that the shooter was Islamic. It matters that the massacre occurred at a gay night club. Let me use two different headlines as an example.

"Mass Shooting Occurs at Night Club"

is very different from,

"Islamic Terrorist Massacre Occurs at Gay Night Club"

Can you see the how? Do you know why it matters? Two fold.

1. Sherlock isn't required to deduce a motive here. Whether it's Saudi Arabia holding meetings on how to most effectively kill gays, or Iran throwing them off roof-tops, or ISIS specifically targeting gay people, or really... hell just the Qur'an itself. Islam has a long and storied quarrel with gays. In nearly any Islamic country, if you're gay, you're dead. That MATTERS here. Do you think for a second that the media wouldn't dine out on an anti-gay mass shooting at the hands of Christians for months? Hell, they give Westboro baptist more coverage than Islam's homophobia, and all those hacks do is create some crappy bristol boards.
2. And this one is most important. As of right now, the top trend on social media is #GunControlNow. Again, this is a lot easier to push if you sidestep the Islamic terrorism issue. #GunControl would not have prevented this. I don't know that anything could have prevented this. Violence is a part of the human condition and unfortunately, will never be eradicated. Which is precisely why good people need to maintain their right to self-preservation through firearm ownership.

But if the left really wants to save lives, if they really want to stop the massacres... how about #IslamControlNow? Islam subjugates, mutilates and murders far more people every day than law-abiding American gun-owners do in a year. Now, I'm in full support of the First Amendment in that everyone should have the right to practice their religion freely and openly.

But Islam is not the same as Christianity. Islam is not the same as Buddhism. It's not the same as the Bahai faith. Islam is not only a religion, but a specifically prescribed ideology, bringing with it, its own system of government and laws. Every single Islamic mosque has an Imam who can oversee legal matters, usurping our current legal system. It's not merely a church, it is a courthouse. And it is a courthouse who's views on women, gays and non-Muslims would repulse any human-rights supporter in America. These should of course not be allowed to operate on American soil.

So if the left is truly concerned about saving lives, if they truly want to curb down on mass violence. Stop with the lies regarding "gun control" and start telling the truth regarding Islam.
