The leftist media perception of conservatives, especially someone like Ted Cruz, is that we're better and angry. You and I know it's not true. It is what it is.

But as Cruz tells Leon Wolf from Restate (someone you should be reading), conservatives are the happier ones. We just have to say it with a smile...

The way we win is simple...we tell the truth, and we tell the truth with a smile. The truth is the policy ideas on the left dob't work and are a disaster. Our ideas work. The truth is liberals win nationally when they effectively obfuscate what they believe. Conservative win when we effectively communicate what we believe, because this county is a center right nation. We are build on Judeo-Christian values...we do what Ronald Reagan did. Reagan was a happy warrior. We all remember Barack Obama from eight years ago, when he was in San Francisco swilling Chardonnay. And he describe most of America, what elite liberals describe as flyover country. He described us as bitter and angry and clinging to our God and our guns. I'm not bitter, but a lot of us are angry and he can't have our God or our guns. And if we tell the truth with a smile, that's how we win, And I can't wait t stand on that debate stage with Hillary Clinton and make the case as a cheerful happy warrior that her policies haven't worked and their's a better way.

Man, this right here, this is one of Cruz's strong suits (right next to live debate). Crystallizing what Conservatism means with a clear, focused, and understandable approach. Above all else, he does so in a way that's inspiring. It's virtually agreed upon across the board that he's the best at this in the current field. Why?

It's simple. To so clearly and effortlessly espouse Conservative principles... requires one to be an actual Conservative. Not a pundit, not a reality show TV star running for president, but a true Conservative inside and out. Ted Cruz can speak with authority because he knows who he is. He hasn't flip-flopped political parties over five times in his adult life, supported Hillary Clinton, socialized healthcare or condemned free speech (read here to find out which candidates have).
