This was an interesting video from Ted Cruz that didn’t get enough plays, I guess mainly because he wasn’t yelling at turtles or setting his toupee on fire about deporting all the Mexicans. Call it a hunch.
No, it’s just him engaging with a protester on a serious topic. Hence, no headlines.
Let’s set aside our shock and awe the Code Pink is still a thing. You’d think with all the wars that President Obama has continued or created during his term, they would be setting up a base-camp next to the golf course to protest him.
The story here is how Ted Cruz handled it. He didn’t shout her down or yell out one of the usual 140 character catch phrases too many Conservatives mistake for leadership. He invited the protester to speak, listen to what she had to say… then eviscerated her and all that she holds dear. But he did so through polite, reasoned discussion.
He didn’t avoid the topic. He didn’t ignore the protester. Ted Cruz didn’t signal his staffers to run in and get him out of there. He just showed leadership and confidence in his view, then expressed it accordingly.
I know, right? We can’t have this in modern politics.
Someone yell about the Mexicans again.
