Awesome: Ted Cruz Schools Kaepernick and Obama on National Anthem
TMZ is a great website to watch this election cycle. The site's one of the top pop culture sites on the interwebs, yet asks politicians questions actual people would ask. Sure, Ted Cruz comes across a little stiff. He has a tendency to sound pre-fab and somewhat "preachy" when he's not in his home element of the Senate. Where he eats liberal idiots for breakfast (watch Ted Cruz and Mark Steyn Destroy 'Man-Made Global Warming' in Under 4 Minutes...). But regardless of delivery style, his message is spot on.
"It's sad to see rich, spoiled athletes that don't recognize what an incredible blessing this country is..."
"It's sad to see rich, spoiled athletes that don't recognize what an incredible blessing this country is. It's very easy when you're sitting there rolling in millions of dollars to disrespect this country. I come at it from a different perspective. I come from the perspective that my dad was imprisoned and tortured in Cuba, and America meant what it's meant for millions across the globe. America's meant hope. America's meant freedom. And I gotta say, I was disappointed to see President Obama stand with Kaepernick and say, "That's right, disrespect the flag." That's not the job of the President. The President should be standing up for America. The President should be encouraging every American to honor the flag that so many have bled and died for. And, to honor the freedom that it stands for.
There's not much left to say about Colin Kaepernick (see Cam Newton on Kaepernick: “We’re all the same color.” Twitter Rages… and 49ers Legend Jerry Rice Blasts Colin Kaepernick. Black Twitter Rages…) until the QB finally gets cut from the 49ers and everyone says it's because of racism. If you don't think that's a main reason for Kaepernick being all moody about this anthem thing, guess again. Because yes, Black Lives Matter took hold in the outrage culture movement last year. In 2015 Kaepernick played football (he was still crappy), but now he's decided to make a stink? I know I'm a cynic and all that, but methinks there's more to this than the police pig socks and general douchebaggery. Well... and all the attention he's getting over it. From us included.
How is this in any way relatable to the story? It isn't. It's just so bad it's good. Enjoy it.
Ted Cruz's still kinda dropped the mic on the situation. In his Ted Cruz fashion of speaking in paragraphs before dropping the mic, sure. He's not a sound-bite speaker. There are worse things.
Speaking of Ted Cruz, here's a flashback to when we had him on the show. He finally loosened up a bit after some more casual conversation.
