What happens when two of the left’s favorite “oppressed” pet groups (LGBTQ and Muslims) collide?
Last month the Swedish nationalists planned a gay pride parade (featuring everyone’s favorite day time entertainment, gay public kissing and/or heavy petting) and routed the parade through two Swedish Muslim districts of Tensta and Husby. For those of you who’ve been living under a rainbow-painted rock, Muslims don’t like gay people. And not in the, “Ew it’s gross when two men kiss, make it stop,” kind of way. No, no, Muslims will kill gay people for being gay. Or because they’re jealous of their fashion sense. Just kidding, Muslims just kill gay people for all the gay reasons.
But as much as leftists champion equality and compassion, one group came out on top… Um, I mean one group won.
Three guesses as to which group got ahead? Yep, the group associated with beheadings, gay-hangings and slamming airplanes through skyscrapers. Whoops, I mean, the religion of peace. PEACE, yo.
Here’s where it gets rich: the gay marchers were branded racists by the ‘Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights.’ That’s right, a fellow group in gayness didn’t have the gay marchers’ backs. Whatever happened to gay solidarity, united under one glorious, oiled-up rainbow flag? Perhaps the Federation for LGBT were just a tweensy bit nervous about losing their heads… or getting blood on their boas.
Two residents of the Muslim area said the gay pride march, “pits two oppressed groups against each other.” Like that’s something liberals never do… Noted athiest blowhard Richard Dawkins also noted the homosexual vs. Muslim game:

What’s the takeaway from this liberal vs. liberal social experiment? If you want preferential treatment from liberals, be associated with the religion that repeatedly abuses women. Or be associated with the religious group that tries to kill you for drawing a cartoon. Or if you really wanted to fall into liberal favor, just be a gay muslim. At least no one will accuse you of racism or homophobia as you’re strung up and hanged.
Want to play the gay vs. Muslim game at home? Try getting a gay wedding cake made in a Muslim bakery and witness the deafening liberal silence.
Ironically, the only word I can think of to describe this situation is “fabulous.”
Muslim is a race? Actually, I’ve been waiting for this. The Progressives have embraced all the ‘victim’ classes but many of those groups despise each other. It’ll be interesting to see who they decide to defend, and who will be thrown under the bus. In their defense, siding with Muslims is the smart move since even the most extreme gay activists tend to be non-violent…unlike extremist Muslims.
Gay activists are plenty violent. Look at the ones throwing fecal matter at priests or spitting on people or using an American flag to wipe themselves. Extreme gay activist used to be non-violent until the supreme court made them an entitled class.
I’m bi-sexual, the only time I have ever been violent is when bigots have attacked me. I have never once enforced my life or opinions on anyone. I treat people as I’m treaed. As far as the gutless left’s position on Islam-all aspects of it I am in complete agreement. In fact I have faced down Islamic savages and dared them to eliminate me. I’m still standing. don’t believe the lie that all LGBT people are pussified modern day so-called liberals.

When exactly did a religion become a race that includes people of wide ranging ethnic backgrounds become its own distinct race? How does that work? If I, as a white man, were to convert to Islam, does that mean I am no longer a white man? It’s amazing to me that people on the left are this dumb.
The same way the jewish faith has claimed itself to be a race of people. Jews are all over the globe, from all nationalities, yet they claim themselves as a race unto themselves.
Draco Paldaine, you are mistaken. Judaism is not a religion that tries to convert everyone, unlike Islam. To think of Islam as a race is absurd, although there is twisted reasoning behind that false conclusion (see my other post on this page), but to think of the Jewish people (adherents and secular Jews included) as a race does make sense because, with only a small number of exceptions, the Jewish people are descendants of common ancestors — the three patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) and the four matriarchs (Sarah, Rebeccah, Rachel and Leah)..
Islam is a vehicle for Arabic imperialism. You can go to Indonesia or anyplace in the world where Islam is dominant and you will see people dressing like Arabs, learning Arabic, eating foods common to Arabic cuisine and, of course, social customs associated with Arabia such as female genital mutilation. Of course, it doesn’t happen all at once, and some elements don’t get carried over at all, but you get the idea. So, from a loony left perspective, to be against Islam is to be against Arabs and Arabic culture is to be racist, which leads to people trying to prove they are not racist by becoming muslim or Islamophilic..
It’s like being “Roman” 2000 years ago. Even though weren’t a member of that relatively small tribe from the middle of the Italian peninsula, the entire culture was an imitation of them. Granted, Arabs are a much bigger tribe, I think your description of islam is spot on.
Thus, if you barbarians have a problem with Rome, you’re just racist.

Gay pride parade marching through a conservative town in the midst of the Bible Belt, though? All you’d hear about would be how the “bigoted rednecks” needed to loosen up and be less “hateful.”
Among humans, there’s no such thing as racism. There’s only one race. We all belong to the human race…well, most of us.
How about a gay bungee jump event? That way Muslims can feel included by tossing gays off buildings, and everyone feels oh-so good.

If Islam is a race, then what were Arabs and Persians called before the 7th century? If an Muslim denounces Islam, although it’s apostacy and punishable by death, are the no longer a race? What do they become? Limbo?

First, let me say this. Deliberately planning a GLBT march in a predominately Muslim area was antagonistic. That shouldn’t have been done. Seems to me that would be the only reason it was done there. Second, Is this “racist?” No it isn’t. Muslim is in reference to a religion – not a race of people. Third, I do not like the “religious” view of the Muslim religion. Sharia Law? ABSOLUTELY not.
