Star Wars Star Likes Ayn Rand. Liberals Lose their Little Minds...
Who is John Galt? Well he might be in Star Wars the Force Awakens.
One of the things coming out of the new Star Wars movie, besides [SPOILER] and [SPOILER] and [SPOILER], is that ladies have found themselves a new heartthrob in Oscar Isaacs. I mean, he's no Harrison Ford, and we could point out the hypocrisy of it being totes fine to fantasize about him while going out of your way to censor old photos of Princess Leia, but that's not our style.
Instead, we want to point out how (tolerant) leftists are losing their minds because the actor wore a Atlas Shrugged shirt, just because LOL at them...
The Star Wars heartthrob, who has been enjoying intense newfound fame with the release of The Force Awakens, turned heads for a different reason this week, when a 2009 photo of him in an Atlas Shrugged T-shirt made the rounds. What's in a T-shirt? A lot, if it's a perceived reference to libertarianism. Atlas Shrugged author Ayn Rand was a strident capitalist whose Objectivist philosophy is closely aligned with libertarian ideals. In recent years, the two have become virtually synonymous, in part thanks to a recent film adaptation of Atlas Shrugged and a new wave of interest in the book among young conservatives.
Isaac wore the T-shirt a full year before the longsuffering and critically panned Atlas Shrugged film trilogy debuted. But it's been sparking puzzled double-takes from fans this year. Over the weekend, the controversy hit critical mass.
This comment from Tumblr is cute.
Okay have you read ayn rand? Because calling her anti-communist is like calling Ammon Bundy anti-communist: it’s technically correct but doesn’t actually cover the depth and breadth of the shitty hateful damage they advocate for.
The tolerance is just too much for me to handle. All of this leftist kerfuffle is over a shirt. A. Shirt. Incidentally, if you're also wearing a t-shirt, or clothes, you're supporting capitalism. Or if you drive a car. Capitalism. Do you have an iPhone? Yep, you're supporting capitialism. Lastly, did you spend upwards of ten dollars to purchase a ticket to see Star Wars the Force Awakens? Oh, so you did? You just supported capitalism.
Why is that funny? Well Ayn Rand? Major capitalist. Plus, she made a point in Atlas Shrugged to call people with liberal ideologies "looters" and "moochers." Pretty spot on descriptions, right?
What do you want to bet all these SJW leftists who are bitching about how Isaacs wore a shirt with "Atlas Shrugged" on the front, haven't actually read anything written by Ayn Rand, they just take their protest cues and ape someone else who's higher up on the idiot food chain?
Incidentally, both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are also fans of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Last I checked, they were still darlings for the SJW Twitter tweeps. So... there's that.
Pro-tip to professional whiners: next time, do yourself a favor, try reading the thing you're complaining about. Hey, you might learn something.
A is A.
Besides, if you want to politicize Star Wars...
