DUMBASS: Before SOTU, Obama Says 'America Doesn't Face any Existential Threats'...

Brodigan
January 13, 2016

In what could be a preview of the State of the Union Address, President Obama thinks things are going swimmingly and that we aren't facing any existential threats (you know, like ISIS or even more ISIS). In a twist of what would be hilarious irony if this were a sitcom, Obama said all this "America isn't threatened" nonsense just before Iran took two of our naval ships and is holding ten of our soldiers. Probably not to watch Netflix's Making a Murderer, just spit-balling.

But you know, I'm sure it's totally fine. This isn't anything like that time Obama said ISIS was contained hours before they hit Paris. Stop drawing analogies.

“It is sometimes important for people to step back and measure how far we’ve come. The economy right now is better than any other economy in the world by a significant margin. We remain the strongest nation on earth by far and there are no existential threats facing us. If we make some good choices now, whoever the next president is, whoever is controlling the next Congress there, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t own the 21st century."

The debatable part about the economy and "how far we've come" notwithstanding, really Skippy? No existential threats? Like say... oh, I don't know, ISIS? Or IRAN? They just took two of our ships, yo. Plus you've put them on a path for a nuke.

Apparently not...

Earlier in the morning in an interview with NBC, the president opined that there were no existential threats to the U.S. “Let me follow up on what the president just said, there are no existential threats facing the United States. What about ISIS?” Diaz-Balart asked. “Republicans argue that ISIS does represent an existential threat.”

Psaki avoided directly answering the question in her response. “One thing the American people can expect tonight is the president is going to talk about how we have the greatest military in the world. We’re going to go after ISIS, we are going to defeat them, we are going to destroy them. There is no question about that.”

So wait, we can expect the president to talk about how we're all crazy for thinking ISIS is a threat, then the president is going to say we have a strong military that's going to eliminate ISIS, who he said isn't a threat? Excuse us...

If I know President Obama, and I think I have an inkling, I'd say this guy is going to lecture the American people with his scowly face about gun violence and how us clinging to our guns is, like, super mean. Hey, remember what he told the rape victim last week, that a gun in the house always leads to danger? Not dangerous to the butt-knuckle who breaks into the house to rape or rob, but to the idiots who live in the house and cannot be trusted around their own firearms.

We've had 8 years of this man. He's not stupid, he's not naive, he's not inexperienced. He hates this country as founded and will use his last year in office to shove through as much crap as he can. What's he got to lose? He doesn't care what you think of him, you're beneath him. King Obama knows best. You're just a subject. So stop your whining, stop worrying so much. You're safe with King Obama. Learn and love it. Or suffer the consequences.
