Predictable: Liberal Activists Attack Chris Pratt in "Jurassic World"
Remember when we covered and predicted this? Well it looks like it's a good thing that Chris Pratt preemptively apologized for saying something stupid on the press tour for "Jurassic World." If this article is any indication, he's going to face the outraged watch of social justice warriors everywhere. Apparently that is a "controversy" surrounding gender roles thanks to Joss Whedon or something...
Online feminist entertainment blog The Mary Sue tweeted out a link to the Jurassic World scene, commenting, “We’re too busy fanning ourselves to talk more about Chris Pratt in this #JurassicWorld clip.” Joss Whedon used his own Twitter account to reply: “…and I’m too busy wishing this clip wasn’t 70’s era sexist. She’s a stiff, he’s a life-force – really? Still?” He has since stated in an interview with Variety that he regrets sending the tweet, saying that Twitter was the wrong medium for such negative comments, but Whedon hasn’t retracted the opinion he expressed to his 1.12 million followers.
Honestly, being a leftist today has to be exhausting. Just completely exhausting. It's not enough to feel guilty/offended at constant racism, homophobia, transphobia and ethnocentrism, they now have to find offense in a benign summer blockbuster about a dinosaur theme park. Seriously, who watches the trailer for the movie and thinks anything other than "meh."
Of course, Joss Whedon is persona non grata on the left because of his perceived micro aggression against Black Widow. Maybe this is his guilt-ridden attempt to grovel before the neo-feminist altar.
