HOUSE PASSED H.R. 1 "FOR THE PEOPLE" ACT

• Supposedly, the "For the People'' Act is meant to strengthen our broken democracy, and Republicans oppose this bill because they want to suppress the vote. SOURCE: CSPAN
  • But actually, this bill federalizes voting and forces states to:
    • Allow same-day and automatic registration
    • Expand early voting
    • Prohibits voter ID
    • Prohibits signature requirement
    • Mandates no-excuse absentee voting
    • One absentee ballot application for ALL future elections
    • Force states to accept mail-ins up to ten days after Election Day
    • Allow ballot harvesting
    • Allow 16-year-olds to register to vote
    • Have districts redrawn by unelected bureaucrats
    • Limit ability to clean up voter rolls
    • Also, it makes D.C. a state!
  • Even liberal European countries find these changes absurd! Most of them either outright ban or limit mail-in votes and require a photo ID. SOURCE: Newsweek
