- What Happened?
- 10 people were killed including one police officer, 51-year-old Eric Talley.
- Police escorted the suspect from the scene. SOURCE: NBC News
- The shooting occurred at King Soopers supermarket at roughly 2:30 p.m.
- CLAIM: This happened because Colorado didn't enforce the assault weapons ban. SOURCE: CBS News
- There isn't any indication that limiting AR-15-style guns would have any impact on such killings.
- The New York Times recently reviewed the weapons used in recent mass shootings. 11 out of 19 didn't use rifles of any sort. SOURCE: New York Times

- A national database of everyone who is licensed to own a gun and buy ammunition.
- A mandatory psychological evaluation of the gun buyer and all family members, including ex-spouses.
- Annual $800 gun insurance fee required.
- Additional license "to own and possess a military-style weapon."
- Ban on 10+ round magazines.
- For the simple act of being unlicensed and possessing a non-registered firearm, you face fines ranging from $75,000 to $150,000 and lengthy jail sentences.

- Biden issued an executive order establishing free transgender surgery in the military, reversing an Obama-era policy. "In 2016, a meticulous, comprehensive study requested by the Department of Defense found that enabling transgender individuals to serve openly in the United States military would have only a minimal impact on military readiness and healthcare costs...The Secretary of Defense also concluded that it was appropriate to create a process that would enable service members to take steps to transition gender while serving."
