Adult School Worker ASSAULTS Autistic Child Over...a Racial Remark!?
Dealing with autistic children takes patience and wisdom... Which is why there are education professionals specifically trained to do so. If you thought there would be a strict screening process in place for this sort of work, you were wrong. At least when it comes to New York, apparently.
[Milton Parker] a paraprofessional trained to work with special-needs students struck then 11-year-old Anatoly Veltman Jr. School records cited by the New York Daily News suggest the incident began when Anatoly - [who] has the mental capacity of a 6-year-old - told Parker: "This table is for whites only."
Parker, who is black, was standing near the child in the lunchroom at the time... The footage shows Parker lean back slightly before unleashing a downward blow that appears to hit Anatoly in the head, prompting the boy to grab his face in apparent pain.
So, that happened. Was it a rude thing to say? Of course. In fact, one could even probably say that he was kind of being an asshole. You know what? Doesn't matter. He's autistic, he probably says a lot of things that are rather rude and assholish. Doesn't warrant COLD CLOCKING the poor kid in the face. Nothing does. Nothing makes it okay for an adult to punch a KID in the face.
A normal person would see this behavior and conclude that a time out and parent-teacher conference is in order. But this "professional" who had almost 30 years of experience? No no, not on his watch... You hurt my feelings = you get pummeled, little boy. #BlackFeelingsMatter
This dude is as shameless as it gets. Room full of kids? No problem. Camera recording? Pft. Adult lady standing right next to him? Child's play. His fist was set to engage that face at full speed ahead. The worst part is that Milton Child-Puncher Parker wasn't apologetic in the slightest after the fact. It didn't cross his mind that this child was autistic and didn't even understand what he was saying.
He even blames it on the kid swinging first. You watched the video, right? A little boy flaying his arms about is not going to make anyone fear for their life. Nobody sees that and feels the need to defend themselves with excessive force.
"Who gets hit and doesn't respond?" Parker said to the newspaper. "The kid punched me in the eye first and as a reflex he got hit back. I knew it was on camera," the 59-year-old added. "If it was intentional, I would have taken him to another room and beaten the snot out of him."
The boy suffered a concussion... [and] "a big black blue bump above his eye, which looked awful."
This isn't the type of person you want looking after children, especially those with special needs. The cherry on top? The man retired and is now receiving pension from the state. WTF? I highly doubt he did all this just because the boy swung his bony arms around. This man, like countless others (Obnoxious, Leftist Mizzou Professor Charged with Assault), responded emotionally to something a student said. He was most likely "triggered." Thanks a lot, leftists. You created these monster adult-children.
Speaking of man-children...
