Sadiq Khan Defends London Trump Protesters. Cites Free Speech
The Donald visited Limeyland this weekend. While the Orange One was there, some douchetastic dunces flew a baby Trump blimp in a symbolic middle finger to him. When Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, was questioned about allowing the blimpery to commence unimpeded, he stood strong on his "unwavering" belief in free speech.
Yes, the same mayor of London who helped nix the phrase "ladies and gentlemen" from the London Metro. Now he's branding himself a champion for free speech:
The mayor of London defended his decision to allow protesters to fly a giant “Trump baby” blimp over the city during President Donald Trump’s visit, saying disagreement was part of a fundamental freedom.
Sadiq Khan gave permission for the balloon, which was inflated with helium early Friday and floated over the Houses of Parliament during the demonstrations.
"The idea that we would park our rights and privileges and freedoms because it may cause offense to a U.S. president, I think people in London and the U.K. would find objectionable as indeed would Americans,” the mayor said. “We should cherish the fact they’ve got the right to [protest].”
Worry not, folks. I'll do the honors.
The Trump blimp most undoubtedly falls under free speech. We're not disputing that. If you want to squeal bloody murder at the Donald's inauguration. Call him an "ethnic cleanser" for tidying up the budget. Burn up your last brain cell with a headless Trump photoshoot. That's your prerogative.
The problem here though is Sadiq Khan being up to his ears in hypocritical douchebaggery. We've already heard the tales of Count Dankula. Tommy Robinson. Countless others in the UK saying the "wrong" thing and getting the proverbial shaft from their overlords. Khan has no problem cracking down on speech when it opposes his narrative.
It's funny how leftism seems to be the same, no matter where you go. Free speech is only free speech when it suits the left's whims. "Peace" and "tolerance" only apply when leftists are on the receiving end. I think it's beyond theory now that the left has about as many principles as Michael Moore has unclogged arteries.
While we're on the subject:
