Comedy Central recently hosted another of its roasts. You know, a gathering where comedians congregate to crap on the ego of someone special. In a comedic, good-natured way of course. In this case, the roastee was Rob Lowe. Seems like a good time, right? Rob Lowe's no stranger to criticism, after all (see The REAL Reason Comcast Wants Rob Lowe Gone). But it didn't take long before the roasters turned their sights on someone other than Rob. Soon it became The Roast of Rob Lowe... and Ann Coulter?

Comedy Central's annual roast on Monday night was ostensibly about Rob Lowe... But the real star (err, victim) of The Roast of Rob Lowe was without a doubt Ann Coulter.

First of all, we can all agree that comedy roasts are intended to be funny and mean. And yes, everyone on the dais is fair game. In fact, when it comes to comedy in general, everyone is fair game. The keyword here being comedy, of course. There's a difference between lazy insults and actual jokes. Namely the funny bit. But that's besides the point.

Jewel, (Yes - as in the singer, not comedian... I'm just as confused as you are) brings up something worth noting. Let's say this wasn't Ann Coulter, but Arianna Huffington. Of the leftist HuffPo. Imagine conservative comedians taking jabs at Arianna, cracking jokes about her of sleeping around with Black Panthers. Or of Arianna being a closet transgender. Now imagine what the response would be from leftists.

Methinks they wouldn't be cool with it. But we don't have to assume. Just take a gander at past examples... (see Ricky Gervais Skewers Overly-Sensitive Hollywood. PC Liberals Rage...) To be fair, some of the jokes were funny. Hence the difference between leftists and conservatives. We can laugh at jokes. Because hey, they're words. But liberals? Not so much.

If a conservative anybody critiques a Democrat woman for anything, even if it has nothing to do with her gender, leftists cry SEXISM! In fact I'm pretty sure Hillary Clinton has a Cry Sexism At Everything department in her campaign. If you dare question Hillary's health? Sexism. If you dare say Hillary Clinton is unqualified to be anything other than a... well... what is she qualified to do? SEXISM!

But a conservative woman called sexist names, or the but of sexist insults? Meh. Leftists don't care. Why? Because conservative women, according to leftists, can't experience sexism. Conservative women haven't toed the feminist line, ergo they're ripe for sexist punches. Tolerance. Equality.
