Watch: Parent exposes how far their kid's public school goes in indoctrinating students
Ridgefield School District in Washington is the archetypal example of wokeness and indoctrination in public schools. Today’s show dived right into this exclusive story after the problem was first brought to our attention by a concerned parent.
A concerned community member reached out to Parents Defending Education and provided documents received from the Ridgefield School District through FOIA requests. The documents showed the district supporting Black Lives Matter and gender ideology initiatives in emails.
“If you don't share these points of view, you don't get hired. You are not allowed in the club that is the teachers union because they want to ensure that this kind of propaganda reaches your children day in and day out, eight hours a day. And as a parent, you have no say in the matter,” Steven said.
Steven said that schools are no longer concerned about educating children but instead about creating an army of foot soldiers.
In one email, according to Parents Defending Education, a science teacher responded to a parent who raised concerns about the teacher displaying a Black Lives Matter poster in her classroom. She tells the parent: “In science, women and people of color have long been underrepresented. I want students from marginalized populations to feel safe and supported in my classroom so that we can work to change that reality.”
What does any of this actually have to do with learning science?
"Just to be clear, when someone says 'equity' they are racist. You can have equality, which means equal opportunity, or you can have equity, which ensures the outcome," Steven said.
The superintendent told a parent who was concerned about a BLM flag in the classroom that the district would apply the principle of equity to all its policies.
It is not possible to have equity without diversity quotas and picking winners and losers based on race and identity.
"If you have a white boy in the Ridgefield School District, you need to take him out of that school district. [The superintendent] said they will not be treated the same,” Steven said. "This guy just said the silent part out loud and now he's trying to silence a parent."
The superintendent, Nathan McCann, has since announced his resignation because it was mutually determined he was not the best match for the needs of the district.
