Everybody is still fuming over the verdict in the Kate Steinle trial. Everyone except for leftists, of course. They're sticking to their support for sanctuary cities, putting the whims of illegals over the lives of their tax-paying, law-abiding citizens. Priorities.

Well, a Republican congressman is doing something to crack down on these illegal sanctuary cities. Some fresh legislation just dropped.

Indiana Rep. Todd Rokita’s bill is one of the most aggressive pieces of legislation to date aimed at sanctuary city policies, going beyond the Justice Department’s threat to cut off grants to those jurisdictions.

“Politicians don’t get to pick and choose what laws to comply with,” Rokita told Fox News. “Americans are dying because politicians sworn to uphold the law refuse to do so.”

His “Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians (SLAP) Act” would hold state and local lawmakers criminally responsible for refusing to comply with federal immigration enforcement efforts. The Republican’s bill would subject violators to a $1 million fine and up to five years in prison if they are convicted.

Otherwise known as the "Laws Are A Thing Act."

Even after this murder trial, leftists are still covering for illegals. You'd think progressives would be up in arms over an act of gun violence against a woman. But, alas, the trigger man was an illegal undocumented immigrant of Hispanic origin. His melanin content and immigration status trump their gun control narrative and a white woman's vital signs.

Maybe this bill will finally force leftists into compliance with federal laws and common sense. The votes cultural enrichment we get by sheltering illegals isn't worth the bodies piling up in the morgues.

Do the right thing, lefties. Pass this bill and let ICE give these lost illegals a Feliz Navidad by reuniting them with their families.
