REBUTTAL: John Oliver’s Socialist Venezuela Fallacies
Question of the day: What example would YOU use, if you're an advocate for socialist policies, of successful long-term socialism?
"Some of Chavez's programs could have been sustainable if he pursued a sound economic policy."
LOL, "if."
If Oliver thought socialism wasn’t to blame, he’d do what we’re doing with him right now. He’d use point by point examples of contrast to rebut the conservative position that socialism is the problem. Saying “see, Venezuela is mismanaging their socialist regime, BUT here’s this other socialist country running smoothly not eating their pet rabbits." But he can’t. Because “good socialism” doesn’t exist. Hence no one can cite any examples of it ever working.
