RACIST: Josh Earnest Jokingly Calls Black Reporter 'A Slave'
Testing, testing this is not a joke. From the "what if Bush said it" files, we bring you this downright doozy of a clip from Monday's press briefing. Josh Earnest is joking with two black, female reporters, when he tells one that she is just:
"a slave to your profession."
Holy. Crap. Forget the "what if Bush said it" gag... What if Ron Burgundy said it? It couldn't be any hilariously worse!
The reporter who asks the original question is April Ryan of American Urban Radio Networks. The reporter to whom Josh Earnest makes the friendly, totally normal slavery joke is Kristen Welker of MSNBC. They are both African American.
Paging the outrage machine. Oh outrage machine? Please pick up the red courtesy phone. Or in this case, the black-phone. You may know it as the "slave" phone, I'm not sure. You have a call from John McCain and George Bush and Mitt Romney and Dick Cheney and Bob Dole and Ronald Reagan and Bill O'Reilly and, oh that's right, STEVEN CROWDER. I'd like a word with you about your standards. Seems I'm a little murky on the rules here.
