Yay Tolerance! Andrea Bocelli Backs Out of Inauguration Due To Death Threats
Ok leftists, take a knee. We know you like to get outraged when a celebrity doesn't spout the pre-approved talking point (see OUTRAGE! Lebron James Says He’ll Stand for National Anthem. ‘All lives matter…’ and Bill Maher Slams Ahmed Mohamed’s ‘#ClockGate,' Liberals Outraged…). Just as surely, I love to mock you for doing so. But can we agree that threatening to kill a blind opera singer just because he's performing at Trump's Inauguration is, to use your wording, "problematic"?
When blind tenor Bocelli announced he would not sing at this Friday's celebration, it was widely reported it was because fans had said they would boycott his concerts and records.
But a source said the 58-year-old had been determined to 'press ahead' and sing but had pulled out on the advice of his security team after receiving threats to his life.
A source close to Bocelli, a friend of Trump's, said: 'Andrea is very sad to be missing the chance to sing at such a huge global event but he has been advised it is simply not worth the risk.'
It's almost too sad to write anything funny regarding this story. Though in the case of these protesting, angry feminists... Bocelli's blindness may be an act of mercy from God. What'd you expect? You're still reading LwC.
The same people who whine about emojis being racist, think death threats are appropriate if you don't like a politician. It's not even Andrea Bocelli's politics they don't like. It's the politics of the guy in front of whom he'd have been singing.
And you wonder why Donald Trump got elected in the first place.
