Pastor tries apologizing after shaming 'busted and disgusted' congregation for not buying him expensive watch
I'll admit I'm not the most religious person in the world, but my memories of church center around the priest discussing how best to apply Jesus' teachings to our lives. At no point did any clergy read from Ayo 3:58: "I just wanna Rolly Rolly Rolly with a dab of ranch." Pastor Carlton Funderburke from Kansas City led his flock in a different direction. Now that the video went viral, he's super sorry about it.
First, the video if you missed it, where he shamed the congregation for being so "poor, broke, busted and disgusted" that they didn't provide him with the Movado watch he's wanted for a year. It retails between $395 and $3,295. I'm guessing he didn't want the cheap one.
In a recent sermon at Church at the Well in Kansas City, Pastor Carlton Funderburke blasted the "cheap" congregation for not making him richer.
"I'm not worth your McDonald's money? I'm not worth your Red Lobster money?"

"I'm not worth your McDonald's money? I'm not worth your Red Lobster money?"
"I ain't worth your Louis Vuitton? I ain't worth your Prada? I'm not worth your Gucci?"
The clip went viral and people did NOT side with the Pastor. The one thing people from all faiths can come together on is that when an alleged "man of God" screams at his congregation for not providing him with designer jewelry, it's a bad look. Not Godlike, if you will. Dare I say, Pastor Funderburke looked less like a pastor and more like a doooooooouche.
The Pastor must agree. Because he turned off the embed function on his apology video:
"The video clip does not reflect my heart or my sentiment toward God's people, yet, that's not discernible in the clip."
No, Pastor Funferburke. No, it does not.
