Cultural Appropriation? Hillary Appeals to Latinos... with Tequila, Mariachi Band!

Team Crowder
October 26, 2016

Is embarrassing pandering really the only way Hillary knows how to "appeal" to minorities (see HILARIOUS: Hillary Panders (Again) for Black Vote. Fails Miserably… and FAIL: Pandering Hillary Answers ‘My best friends are black…’)? Seriously, tequila? A mariachi band?

If she was a college student, this would all be triggering (see Liberal College Students Require Counseling Over Traumatically Offensive… Sombreros?!). It would be Cultural Appropriation 1.0. Hillary would be shamed across the internet for this.

Instead, it's just a leftist running for President. Nothing to see here. Except prepare to laugh your whatever the Spanish word for "butt" is right off. Be sure to watch to the end. For the mariachi band.

With two weeks to go until the presidential election, Hillary Clinton joined Univision's Spanish-language talk show "El Gordo y La Flaca" Tuesday to reach out to Hispanic voters.

"I just want to bring people together," Clinton said.

The hosts gifted Clinton with a bottle of tequila and a birthday cake; her birthday is Wednesday. Singer Prince Royce, who has guest starred in the Hulu's show "East Los High" this season to help Voto Latino reach more Hispanic millennial potential voters, sang Clinton Happy Birthday with a full mariachi band.

Look, don't get it twisted. We're not complaining about this being offensive or not PC. Tequila and mariachi bands always equal funny.

But imagine the media reaction had this been a Republican candidate. Imagine Marco Rubio, who is actually Latino, going onto a Spanish network and participating in stereotypically Latino things. Like tequila. Marachi bands. Taking cookies from a midget.

There would be non stop coverage - ON UNIVISION - about how offensive this was to the Latino culture as a whole. Pundits from Miami to El Paso, from Los Gatos to Los Angeles would raise their pitch forks and storm all the Taco Bells. Or El Pollo Locos. Because if a Republican did this, it would be OFFENSIVE TIMES CHALUPAS!

It's a double-standard. That's our point. Also, there's a midget in this video. Handing out cookies. I know I mentioned that already. Bears repeating. It must mean there is a God.

Speaking of cultural appropriation...
