Owen Benjamin on Abortion Rhetoric: "I Just Saw a Heart Beat"
Yes, Owen Benjamin's our boy. He writes for our show. I may be wearing my Big Bear ski cap as I write this. As I pour Irish whiskey from an Unbearables flask. Into coffee in my #MugClub ceramic mug, of course.
But even being a part of our team, Owen has a touching pro-life awakening.

One of the things that got me so freaked out about abortion was just watching my wife get pregnant and seeing how real life is. And that was a big game changer for me. Because the rhetoric growing up was always "pro-choice, or you hate women." And then you start being, "I just saw a heartbeat, guy..."
It's a great point. Especially as "pro-choice" has turned in to straight up pro-abortion, anywhere and everywhere (see Abortionist Pens Sick Tweet Detailing Why Aborted Babies Don’t Scream and WaPo Celebrates Down Syndrome Abortions. Sen. Ben Sasse Responds).
The humanity of the unborn is undeniable. Especially when you see a baby exactly as it is. Not as some elusive euphemism the left tries saying it is: a blob of tissue, clump of cells, product of conception. No, the unborn child is real. Fingers, toes, a tiny heartbeat. Which is why pro-life efforts which show the humanity of the unborn child usually change minds.
