Watch: Ilhan Omar makes shocking declaration of what country she puts "first," and it's NOT America
Ilhan Omar puts Somalia first and being Muslim second, according to a very passionate speech she gave about the country expanding its territory.
"The US government will do what we want, nothing else. They must follow our orders. That is how we safeguard the interest of Somalia," she said.
But to no surprise, America did not make her "priority" list as an elected member of Congress.
"If you are saying 'this is our priority. I am here to serve the interests of Somalia.' You shouldn't be here. Go to Somalia,” Crowder said. “But [she] won’t.”
Elected officials cannot put other countries or entities first. So if Omar claims her priority is serving Somalia, why is she even here? Why is she in Congress where you take an oath to defend America if it is not on her list?
"In pandering to your audience, you cannot say "I am Somalia first, I am Muslim Second, and America is nowhere on the list," Gerald A said. "America is the one that gave [her] a voice. Otherwise [she] would just be one more person in that godforsaken place.”
Omar fled Somalia when she was eight and came to the United States as a refugee in 1997.
"Why do people in our government want to act in the interest of other countries, who have benefited the world in no significant way?" Crowder said. Not all cultures are equal. It's 2024 in Somalia, too.”
Omar has a different interpretation of the facts.
"It's not only slanted but completely off, but I wouldn't expect more from these propagandists," Omar wrote on X. "I pray for them and for their sanity."
Somaliland's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Rhoda J Elmi, wrote on x that Omar's "ignorance" was "shocking" and that her "expressions were lacking in common decency and revealed a significant lack of understanding of basic facts."
Elmi also said that Omar's "endeavors to revive the once-violent and dangerous ideology of Greater Somalia or Somali Weyn, which caused so much death” was "specifically troubling".
How many “public servants” do you believe actually serve you?
