For her latest act of stupidity, Alex is comparing the threat of climate change to Nazi Germany. For reals:

So, when we talk about existential threats, the last time we had a really major existential threat in this country was back in World War II. So, we've been here before and we have a blueprint of doing this before. None of these things are new ideas.

What we have is an existential threat in the context of a war. We had a direct existential threat with another nation, which at this time was Nazi Germany and the Axis. What we did was that we chose to mobilize our entire economy and industrialize our entire economy, and we put hundreds of thousands upon millions of people to work at defending our shores and defending this country.

We have to do this same thing to get us to 100% renewable energy, and that's just the truth of it.

This, my friends, is a prime example of a person talking out of their ass.

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure there's a difference in strategies between waging war on a tyrannical regime and trying to turn on the Earth's air conditioner. You can't exactly blast the carbon in the atmosphere with a Howitzer and call it a day.

Cortez thinks we ought to go to WWII extremes to fight climate change. In case you're not a history buff, that entailed the government rationing goods, seizing businesses, and putting Japanese-Americans away for "safe-keeping." If you weren't convinced Arianna Orenthal-Cortez was a totalitarian wench before, this outta make that pretty clear.

We're dealing with an individual who is both loopy and lacking in the IQ department. Not the best combo:
