Norm MacDonald on PC Culture: “It’s a way of marginalizing normal people.”
Kudos to The Federalist for the heads up. Everyone at LwC are big Norm MacDonald fans (see Norm Macdonald Disses Comic For Bible-Bashing: “Not Brave At All…” and @NormMacdonald Slams Bill Maher: “the unfunniest person I’ve ever…”). It's a crime that he isn't on television.
But when you here anti-liberal, anti-PC common sense like this, it's no surprise why he's not...
“It’s a way of marginalizing normal people.”
He's talking specifically about transgenders, cisgenders, and humorless scolds who think Bruce Jenner was a woman when he won the Olympics in the 70s. But it all honesty, it applies across the board.
These days, you're not only labeled "intolerant" for being "anti-PC," you're intolerant for not knowing what the new rules even are in the first place. And how can you, when they're constantly changing depending on what kinds of a mood the left is in that day.
That's the point Merchant was getting at, who I bet is a lot more liberal than anyone who reads this website. Even him trying to use the right words is difficult, because no one knows what they are, because they change on a whim.
Side note: I actually had Harrison Greenbaum (the Bible bashing comic) on the show to discuss MacDonald and free speech in comedy...
