It's always good to know when the next culture war is coming, so bookmark this post. It was thirteen years ago, so dollars to donuts many of you reading this were too young to remember what happened. But it was Timberlake yanking off Jackson's bustier which coined the new term "Wardrobe malfunction."

To this day, I have no idea what the wardrobe malfunction was supposed to be had it not malfunctioned. Was there supposed to be a smiley face pasty? Was her nip supposed to be covered up with a Free Tibet sticker? I still have no idea. But if you do, leave it in the comments.

And of course, JT has grown a lot since then. He's won some awards. Made a lot of people a lot of money. He's a totally different artist. Married, kids...

I make no apologies.

Do we need to brace ourselves for the think pieces? Will feminists protest Justin for that time he "assaulted" a woman on air (likely staged) for exposing her bodacious boob? Will there be a demand for Justin Timberlake to cut a check to Linda Sarsour and kneel before Lena Dunham begging forgiveness for his past transgressions against ladies? Or will Justin get a pass, because like a good liberal, the rules only apply to everyone else?

But remember, there once was a time the left accused Justin of being a serial cultural appropriator. Sometimes it's just so hard to predict what the left will do.

While angst is the possible/probable route of what comes next, JT is an incredible live act and would probably put together a great show with some of his friends. Having Chris Stapleton there wouldn't suck.
