NBC News calls men "girls" and girls "cisgender" over lawsuit concerning trans-inclusive policy in high school sports
Women won a court ruling allowing them to challenge a policy that robbed them of opportunities in high school when they were forced to compete against boys. The way NBC News tells it, the boys are "transgender girls" and the women are "cisgender."
A federal court will allow four cisgender runners to sue over Connecticut's trans-inclusive policy, which they say deprived them of honors and opportunities. https://t.co/yTwIoWzUxd

This is the OG "boys stealing from girls" story that dates back to 2020, when two girls who were born boys -- went through puberty as boys and everything -- were allowed to compete as girls. Due to their natural strength advantages, the dudes took first and second place while other girls were trying to compete for scholarships.
Chelsea Mitchell, one of the plaintiffs who was once considered the "fastest girl in Connecticut," ran in the 55-meter dash. The boys' record for it is 6.26. The girls' record is a 6.77, which wouldn't rank her in the top ten for boys'. As a visual aide, this is who she competed against.
She attempted to share her story in 2021 in USA Today. Activists bullied the paper to edit her OpEd because she referred to males as "male."
.@USATODAY published our client Chelsea Mitchell’s opinion about the unfairness she experienced being forced to compete against male athletes. But after backlash from the woke mob, editors unilaterally changed Chelsea’s words & called them “hurtful language.” 1/3 pic.twitter.com/tAtzrZgPzt

And you know how much more ridiculous things have gotten since.
- Girl track star (who was a boy track star two years ago) brags about PR as she steals opportunity for state championship
- Watch: Intersex Track Star Claims Being Born With Testicles "Don't Make Me Less Of A Woman"
- A biological male, who competed for boys until this year, leads girl's track team to state championship
- "Way to cheat, bro:" Dude ranked 172nd in high school track is now the fastest sophomore girl in the region
The case is still going on because, as Chelsea told the New York Post in June, she wants to help other girls, especially now that the issue has gotten a lot worse.
Just two athletes took so many opportunities away from biological females. Even though there were only two of them, they took 15 state championships away from other girls — and there were 85 girls that were directly impacted from them being in the races.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled that the women (the other plaintiffs: Selina Soule, Alanna Smith, and Ashley Nicoletti) have a legal standing. Even though NBC News did everything could to avoid calling them women.
Judges found the cisgender runners have standing to sue and have described injuries that might qualify for monetary damages. The runners also seek to alter certain athletic records, alleging they were deprived of honors and opportunities at elite track-and-field events because they say “male athletes” were permitted to compete against them.
The male athletes that NBC put finger quotes around are two "female athletes" who, after going through male puberty, decided to be "female athletes."
Girls born boys who competed as girls are identified as girls. Girls who were born girls are identified as "cisgender athletes." Journalisming in 2023.
