Pew Research always has some mind titillating factoids. For instance, American Muslims were busy last year. As 2017 wound to a close, so did some interesting studies. The U.S. Muslim population is projected to surpass the Jewish population by 2040 and double by 2050:

...Our projections suggest that the U.S. Muslim population will grow much faster than the country’s Jewish population. By 2040, Muslims will replace Jews as the nation’s second-largest religious group after Christians. And by 2050, the U.S. Muslim population is projected to reach 8.1 million, or 2.1% of the nation’s total population — nearly twice the share of today.

Where are the Muslim populations sprouting from? Fresh start seekers and fruitful loins.

The latest estimate combines information from our 2017 survey of U.S. Muslims — which reported on the prevalence of Muslims among immigrants and other demographic groups — with official Census Bureau data on the number of people in these groups.

... the Muslim population has continued to grow at a rate of roughly 100,000 per year, driven both by higher fertility rates among Muslim Americans as well as the continued migration of Muslims to the U.S.

What's not affecting the numbers? Conversions.

Religious conversions haven’t had a large impact on the size of the U.S. Muslim population, largely because about as many Americans convert to Islam as leave the faith.

Meanwhile, the rest of Americans are drooling at Netflix instead of getting busy in beddy bye. Birthrates are alarmingly low, 62 babies per every 1,000 fertile women. Come on, folks, making babies is the most fun part of being human.

A nifty summary: Muslims are moving to the U.S., having more kids than everyone else by comparison, and not leaving their faith. Looking on a wide scale, like worldwide, Muslims are outpacing Christians in birthing youngins. According to Pew Research, in the next 20 years, Muslims will surpass Christians in laboring little beings into the world.

This is bound to cause a shift of values in both America and for neighboring earth dwellers. Christians value women's equality, compassion toward all people, and free will. Muslims value putting tents on their women, throwing gays from rooftops, and living by strict Sharia law. No alcohol or merriment for you.

Globally, societies built on Muslim values are more apt to be oppressive to minorities, like ladies and men who have loose wrists. Countries built on Christianity are focused on social freedoms and have a lot less stabby tendencies. Just some thoughts to chew like Hubba Bubba.
