Remember all the people who screeched their gullets dry over tax reform? Democrats claimed America would be over if you got a tax cut. OVER! Now that it’s all said and done, the left’s newest concern is that people will like the new tax plan too much. Specifically millennials.
One of Hillary Clinton’s longest-serving, most-trusted political advisers is deeply worried that young voters will see more money in their bank accounts after the GOP tax cuts and therefore consider voting Republican.
Philippe Reines served as a senior adviser to Hillary Clinton for more than a decade in multiple roles in both her Senate and state department offices. He also advised Clinton in the lead up to her presidential campaign. Reines sat down with Washington interns to give his assessment of the political landscape after the 2016 election. Reines was asked by a young woman about the future of young voters in politics. The Clinton advisor first began by saying he didn’t know “how millennials think” and that it is “unclear what will get them going.”
Yeah, the only Armageddon happening here is the verbal disaster erupting from Philippe’s mouth. He said he doesn’t understand what millennials want. Sounds about right. Contrary to socialist craptrap, there are many young people out there who don’t want the government’s paw in their wallet (see Hillary Clinton Supporters Duped into Supporting Trump’s Tax Plan). How dare they. Selfish hedonists.
The idea that young people could possibly want lower taxes befuddles leftists. It scares them, even rustles their jimmies a bit. Good.
Democrats are still recovering from the sting of rejection. They were turned down by Americans, by their precious female demographic, by young people. I wonder which they find more terrifying, losing votes or losing taxpayer monies?
I can understand their sadness. It must be tough losing so much.
